Anyone who has ever seen
Turcodos both in action or off the field have been mesmorized by the temperament,
heart , speed , power and looks. Even today after so many years since
we have Turcodos , most dog people in Belgium still talk about him as being
one of a kind dog ( not just Malinois) One of the most common say about
him in Belgium is " there
are many excellent dogs.... then there is Turcodos - he has the
heart, the power and everything else that normally does not come all at
once in the same dog "
The year is 2000, at the closing ceremony of the Belgian Shepherd World Championship, Volker Riedel (from the German Malinois Club) announced that they had a very special trophy .... for the best protection dog (regardless of the score) The helpers had to decide which dog out of the 70 dogs from around the world was the dog that raised their the adrenaline and make their hearts to beat faster. Edgar Scherkl as a speaker for the helpers " For us , the helpers Turcodos is the best protection dog at this World Championship 2000 that took place over the last 3 days. This dog showed us perfect grips, combined with the most desirable qualities in the grips. His attitude during the attacks is uncompromising , fast and powerful. In short he is an uncompromising and dominant dog during both escape and defense work." Since thenTurcodos also took
high Protection at the 2001 USA North Americans delighting the crowd
by knocking the helper down on the back transport!
