Ot Vitosha Malinois bred by Ivan Balabanov are very well-known and highly respected around the world, and Ot Vitosha are the only American bred and trained dogs – of any breed – to ever hold the title World Champion. In fact, we have done it not once but twice! This kind of success doesn’t just happen overnight, nor by chance – but from years of research, careful breeding selection, and passion for the Belgian Malinois.
“Ot Vitosha” was founded in 1989, long before anyone in the USA knew how to pronounce the name of the breed, and is now synonymous with it.
The priority in the Ot Vitosha Malinois Kennel is simple – to produce:
- Belgian Malinois with superior intelligence and confidence
- Excellent physical health, which is paramount
- Versatility with natural abilities and success in all areas
Ot Vitosha Malinois are not bred for a “specific sport”, nor one purpose, they are successful in all areas! With over 30 years of experience in breeding and competing at world championships, I am convinced that natural abilities and intelligence (Genetics) are more important than the environment. I have found that the ratio between genetics and environment is at least 60%/40% if not even 70%/30%, in favor of the genes.
My objective for over 30 years has been to breed outstanding Belgian Malinois worldwide. Dominating the international dog competitions for over 25+ years is my statement to you about my dogs. Though it is a fact that many of the working Malinois kennels in the USA have strong Ot Vitosha line pedigrees, ultimately, there is only one Ot Vitosha kennel.
Year after year our Malinois compete and win against the best in the country and the world.
